2025 Pumpkin Carving Contest… with a few Twists!

NEW LOCATION: Corwith House / Bridgehampton Museum
We have relocated the event to the Corwith House / Bridgehampton Museum this year. It’s across from the Community House, where we used to hold the event – 2368 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. Free parking is available behind the barns and on the street around the event.
NEW DAY: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26th.
After 26 years of holding the event on the Monday before Halloween, we have decided to hold it on the Sunday before Halloween.
NEW WAY: We now have more categories with higher award amounts and will no longer have separate categories or age groups for freestyle. Master Blade winners ( best in show ) will be chosen from the 14 categories. If a carving wins a Best Blade prize, different carvings will be selected as the winners of the category.
NEWBIESNo carving is permitted at the event. Carve for a category at home, and bring it to the show – and maybe win some cash! Seriously, follow the categories on the poster; creative and simple connections to the category are usually the winners!

The 27th Bridgehampton Lions Carving Contest will be held at the Bridgehampton Museum / Corwith House ( across from the Community House ) on Sunday, October 26th, starting @ 5pm. It’s open to ALL AGES, FREE to enter, and FREE to see, but you can’t win unless you bring a carved pumpkin or squash-like life form to enter in the contest –  be part of the spectacle!
Don’t forget the categories! If you carve to fit a category, you will be way more likely to win. Pick your favorite, or if you can’t decide, carve 3! You can enter in up to 3 categories. Sometimes, a category has just a few entries, so there may be a guaranteed win in your future if you make the effort.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
4 pm: Early drop-off and set up if needed.
5-6 pm: Entry set up with snacks and cider by Milk Pail and others.
5:30 pm: Music by The Marimbas Club from the Bridgehampton High School.
5:45 pm: Puppet show by Liz Joyce and Goat on a Boat.
6:15-6:45 pm: Judging starts, please set up by 6 pm.
7:30 pm:  Announcement of the winners / prizes awarded.
Spectators are welcome any time, but dont miss the music, puppet show, or pumpkins as it gets dark.
All entries should be brought home after the event.
SUGGESTIONS:
– If you carved for Master Blade only and your carving doesn’t fit a category or in the category area, you may set up in the general area and be considered for the Master Blade Awards. Please just look for someone from the event to help you find a spot.
– Any carving entered on site will be considered for the Master Blade Awards. If you were looking for a “freestyle” category to enter in, we suggest one of the two Odd Lot categories.
– If anyone entered inside a category wins a Master Blade award, the category award will need to go to someone else in the category. So, don’t let an over-the-top carving deter you from entering the category you carved for.
– We have seen really simple solutions win over more extravagantly carved ones. A creative and clever connection to a category is usually a good contender!
– The judging happens when it’s dark, so it’s important to be sure your entry glows and your candles are lit before the judges come by. Natural candlelight seems to be the way to go, but other safe lighting sources are acceptable. Please DO NOT rely on an electrical source.
Be safe and have fun, can’t wait to see what you bring!
